Introduction
Guangdong Hongshen Shipbuilding & Engineering Co., Ltd. (HONGSHEN) is a joint venture company established and registered as foreign joint venture enterprise in the Guangdong Province of the People's Republic of China, in 1995. Shareholders are :

Establishment of HONGSHEN is a strategy move by Wang Tak, to capitalize on the available resources within China as a manufacturing base. Wang Tak brought to the joint venture broad technical expertise and management skills; to supervise the technical quality and management the operation of HONGSHEN.

Shenzhen Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (SSTC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, operating from Shenzhen Special Administration Region. Its business included contracting new vessels for export, engineering trading and technical consultation for the shipbuilding industry. SSTC brought to the joint venture extensive experience of Chinese shipbuilding practice and experienced staff to support the operation of HONGSHEN.

Since the formation of HONGSHEN 1995; key deliverables were :

Specialized vessels completed and delivered to various satisfied customers, to include operating departments of the HKSAR and commercial passenger ferry operators.

Specialized aluminium superstructure constructions completed and delivered to end users, to include other shipyards and vessel owners.

Fabrication of steel structure, structural components, pressure vessels for export to HKSAR.

Approved by the ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of PRC for export business.

Over the years HONGSHEN has established its reputation as a quality builder and expert in steel structure and aluminum fabrication; recognized by clients, classification societies and other peers within the shipbuilding industry.

Facilities
Building of new vessels and various fabrication work is based from the shipyard site at Huangpu, Guangdong; with over 9,000 square meters of land area. Facilities included :

Covered work shed of 22M(W) x 35M(L), dedicated for aluminium (AL) vessel construction.

Covered work shed of 17M(W) x 45M(L), designed for vessel construction.

Slipway of 300 tonnes capacity with width of 10M.
-
Machining workshop of over 2,000 square meters.
-
Mould lofting area.
-
Storerooms.
-
Office and staff quarters.
